For the manufacturing of a perfect cold strip, many factors are crucial. Our measuring frames specifically check the thickness-related quality parameters of the strip steel or steel sheet. Free of radioactive radiation, laser sensors are used in the cold strip areas that do not require protection measures with laser class 2, or only low precautions when using laser class 3B sensors.
The installation of our measurement systems is quick and uncomplicated for our customers. The CALIX is integrated into the line with its C-shaped frame across the material flow. Our solutions with and without traversing determine all important parameters for quality assurance, including strip thickness, edge thickness, wedge or cambering, and measure the complete thickness profile. Thus, you have full process control in the current production.

PRECISE STRAIGHTNESS MEASUREMENT OF ROUND WORKPIECES
With our innovative laser technology, you can check the straightness of a round profile inline and with a single measuring routine. The measuring frame with will be installed directly in your existing line and contains at least three pairs of measuring sensors. The object rolls through the measurement system in the inspection process and is scanned. The measurement result shows the deviation of the straightness in mm related to a reference length of one meter. Optionally, you can determine additional parameters such as length and ovality of the object.

THE PIONEERING MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR OPTICAL CONTOUR CAPTURING AND SURFACE INSPECTION OF YOUR STEEL PROFILE.
Contour Check Shape has proven itself in hot rolling of long products and is an essential part of the rolling process in many factories. It checks hot and cold steel profiles with the help of three-dimensional surface reconstruction. Thus, it records geometrical errors due to rolling defects including surface defects like scale seams, shells or roller outbreaks.
The innovation lies in the optimized laser light section sensors which LAP constructs with its own laser technique and high-end industry cameras. Four cameras continously scan an object and form up to 2000 complete profiles per second at the same time. The camera with high-speed image recording captures the laser line while the often still glowing steel enters the measuring field. The laser light section sensors are even able to measure in indentations, corners, and between webs, Regardless of the profile form (round, square, flat or hexagonal), the Contour Check Shape supports your production process and verifiably reduces scrap. One additional feature is the precise measurement of rebar whereby measuring values like the contour of the core, the rib height and the weight per meter are accurately calculated.

Robust laser measurement system for contour detection of round and square profiles
OUR WORLDWIDE APPROVED SOLUTION FOR REAL-TIME PROFILE MEASUREMENT
Laser measuring systems are of central importance for rolling mills to check the contours of steel profile for defects during the production process. A slight deformation on the surface of the profiles reduces the quality of the product, and in the worst case, a broken roll can even destroy the entire batch. With our systems Contour Check Round & Edge you identify and evaluate deviations at an early stage. Increase the process efficiency of your production - regardless of temperature and profile shape.
Contour Check Round is the standard solution for measuring round profiles and rebar. Three- and six-axis versions can also accurately record profiles from three point rolling processes.
Contour Check Edge uses sensors on a base plate that rotates in an oscillating manner. In this way, square, flat or hexagonal profiles are measured. Both systems are based technically on the shadowing principle.

Precise inline geometry measurement of medium-sized, round cross-sections
LASER MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR STANDARDIZED QUALITY CONTROL ON ROUND PROFILES AND REBAR
Increasing product quality is a major challenge in rolling mills. By means of a laser-based measurement system, the goal of a 100% geometry inspection can be achieved. The Contour Check Bar & Tube scans the steel profile inline and can determine diameter and ovality within seconds. The precise contour measurement also eliminates the need for many sample cuts, thus significantly reducing the cost of quality assurance.
In addition, the Contour Check Bar & Tube has the measuring ranges of 90 mm, 120 mm, and 150 mm, and can be used at material temperatures up to 200 °C. The software application developed by LAP analyzes quality-relevant errors and visualizes the measurement data in real time. Users can also intervene optimally in the ongoing rolling process in accordance with Industry 4.0.

Compact measurement system for steel wire and rods with small diameters
WIRE AND ROD PROFILE MEASUREMENT IN REAL TIME
A glowing hot wire is pulled through the rolling mill at about 120 meters per second during ongoing production. Speed, high temperatures and dirt are special challenges for a high-precision measuring system. Our solution is the Contour Check Wire. It is specially designed for the geometric measurement of wires, rods and rebar and, at 800 Hz, offers the optimum measuring rate for accurate data acquisition. In the uniaxial version, you can check the diameter; in the two- to three-axis version, the ovality can also be determined. The small dimensions and light weight allow a quick and easy integration of the Contour Check Wire into the existing line.
